The biggest mistake new CPR instructors make happens before they even start?

They get overwhelmed by too much conflicting information.

They spend hours researching, calling around, and trying to figure out exactly what it takes to get certified.

You don't need to guess your way through this process.

This is your first step toward becoming a certified CPR instructor. This free course walks you through the entire certification journey so you’ll know exactly what to expect, what you need, and how to get started.

Whether your goal is to start a CPR training business or teach part-time for extra income, this course gives you the clarity and direction to move forward with ease.

You don't have to quit your job to start a CPR business, you just need a clear roadmap.

Here is a peek at the exact steps you’ll work through inside:

Step 1: Become BLS Certified

Before you can become an instructor, you must first be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). This ensures you understand the skills you’ll be teaching and meets the minimum requirement for instructor eligibility.

Step 2: Complete Your Trainings

This includes the online Instructor Essentials course and the in-person class required by the AHA. You’ll learn teaching skills, course policies, and how to effectively run a CPR class.

Step 3: Purchase Your Equipment and Supplies

Before you can begin teaching, you’ll need the essential equipment—typically mannequins, AED trainers, barriers, and basic teaching materials—so you’re prepared to lead classes confidently.

Step 4: Instructor Monitoring

You will teach a CPR or BLS class while a Faculty member observes and ensures you can confidently lead a class, follow AHA guidelines, manage students, and demonstrate readiness to teach independently.

Step 5: Submit Your Application & Sign Your Agreement

Finally, you’ll complete and submit your Instructor Candidate Application so your Training Center can verify your eligibility and get you set up in their system. Your Training Center may also provide additional training on their processes, policies, and compliance requirements before signing your Instructor Agreement.

Once you complete these steps, you will officially become a new certified CPR instructor.
